Yue (Joy) joined Commercial Food Sanitation (CFS) in 2014 as a Food Safety Specialist. Her role has evolved over the years, and she now serves as the Technical Development Manager in North America at CFS. She has supported food processors worldwide across diverse product segments. Yue is particularly passionate about developing mitigation plans, fostering continuous improvement, and enhancing technical capability within the organization.
Yue is adept at communicating scientific concepts into actionable strategies that drive operational excellence in business. As a regular contributing reviewer for the Journal of Food Protection, she brings invaluable industry insights to academia and regulatory agencies, making a substantial impact on the fields of sanitation and food protection.
Before joining CFS, Yue worked on several microbial food safety research projects, including an FDA project involving developing sanitation protocol for nut butter processing lines and industry projects involving the validation of HPP treatment to achieve a reduction of food-borne pathogens in various low-moisture foods. Yue also has extensive manufacturing experience, having served in FSQA roles at both plant and corporate levels, where she gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the field.
Yue speaks English and Mandarin. She earned her Master's degree in Food Safety and Technology with a concentration in Food Microbiology from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Institute of Food Safety and Health (IFSH) and a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Engineering from Sichuan University. Yue has certificates from the International HACCP Alliance and Better Processing Control School.
