Prior to joining CFS in 2022, Wan Mei worked at Sealed Air, a global packaging company, for five years. At Sealed Air she performed voice-of-customer research, scouted new technologies and worked with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for food safety and quality-related issues in various food segments, including meat, seafood, pet food, and plant-based meat. In this R&D role, Wan Mei developed a passion for understanding customer’s challenges and pain points and seeking practical solutions.
Wan Mei holds a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a specialization in Food Microbiology in her graduate study. She has six years of academic research experience with a focus on understanding the survival of Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Shiga-toxin producing E. coli in various food matrices and investigating the survival mechanisms of Listeria monocytogenes using the next-generation sequencing method.
Wan Mei holds certificates in FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food and HACCP. She is eager to share knowledge and help customers to improve their food safety standards. Wan Mei is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
