Award recognizes Cammarata’s innovation and inspiration for her leadership in CFS Hygienic Design Certification

Nicole Cammarata was named the Food Processing Suppliers Association’s (FPSA) 2023 Women’s Alliance Network Red Circle Honors recipient in the Innovation and Inspiration category. Cammarata—Global Training Manager of Commercial Food Sanitation, an Intralox company—received the award at the annual Women’s Alliance Network Breakfast during Process Expo in Chicago.

"It’s a tremendous honor to receive this award, but the real reward is knowing the contribution we’re making to produce safe food."

The Innovation and Inspiration Honor recognizes a woman who has brought game-changing innovation or an inspiring idea in the last 18 months to her company or industry. In the face of the global pandemic, Cammarata’s extraordinary achievements in the food industry reflect her innovative thinking and inspirational leadership.

During the global pandemic, she began researching ways to help food-industry customers improve food safety. Through many “voice of the customer” conversations and feedback loops with food manufacturers around the globe, Cammarata identified needs and gaps resulting in the Commercial Food Sanitation (CFS) Hygienic Design Certification Program.

The program consists of an in-person Hygienic Design Training and 16 digital courses that certify food industry professionals for their proven hygienic design knowledge. A three-year recertification requirement ensures recipients’ knowledge stays relevant. The CFS Hygienic Design Certification Program is receiving strong interest and signups globally; plans for trainings in Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish have begun.
