
Edwin brings 15+ years’ experience in the food industry. Prior to joining CFS, Edwin worked at Kraft Foods where he held roles as Sanitation & Quality Supervisor, Global Quality Lead Auditor with responsibility for auditing quality systems (including sanitation, pathogen environmental monitoring, pest control, HACCP) to meet a variety of regulations, including USDA and FDA, and most recently as a Quality Leader where he was responsible for assessing and implementing world class quality programs/systems at external manufacturers and suppliers globally.
During Edwin’s career he has worked in multiple sectors of the food industry having experience in meat/poultry, cheese/dairy, beverages, bakeries, gelatin, gum/candy, chocolate, peanut butter, and produce products. Edwin has certificates in International HACCP Alliance, Rapids Methods and Automation in Food Microbiology, Sanitary Design, Low Acid Canned Foods (LACF), and FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food.
Edwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of San Francisco and a Master of Science in Science & Food Technology with a specialization in Food Microbiology from University of Puerto Rico. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, and proficient in Portuguese.
